I'm building a MAME cabinet (well, I say I am. A lot of the games just don't have stable roms or just can't be run properly by even the *best* N64 emulators. Nintendo 64 has always been notoriously hit or miss when it comes to emulation. Some of those roms may not work well just because there are no good roms/emulators for them. I might try Gamecube but I don’t expect it to run at all. I plan to test a few other systems tonight like 3DO,ĭreamcast, PS1 and Saturn to see what they do. Since there is a full OS as part of this image you won’t have as much OS running and that the team that made this image didn’t optimize any of theĮmulators and just rushed it out to be first. Overall I think the Pi 4 has great potential once there isĪlmost certain that my performance issues came from there being a full desktop Load and run but has an extremely low frame rate and was barely playable. System to its absolute limits and are notoriously hard to emulate and that The 2 God of War games on PSP pushed that The only issue I had was screen tearing whenįinally I tried God of War Chains of Olympus. On the Pi 4 it ran at full speed and looked great. After that it was CastleVania theĭracula X Chronicles which ran on the Pi 3 but had a slightly slower frame rate. Those two games were unplayable on the Pi 3īut, ran without any issues on the Pi 4. Next up was Fate Unlimited Codes which ranĤ it ran at full speed. Tried BlazBlue Continuum Shift as a baseline and it ran fine. Playing it and it appeared (to me) to run at full speed. Was interested to see if it had a performance boost on the Pi 4.
